I wanna be an Imaginative Traveller when I grow up

First of all, I don't know what the heck it means to grow up. Now that we've got that out of the way, I wanna be an imaginative traveller when I grow up. I'm already working on the imaginative part, now I just need to get the traveller part down and I'll be good to go (around the world). Of course making a statement like that begs a lot of questions; what does it mean to be an imaginative traveller, what kind of travel does an imaginative traveller do, do they just travel in their minds and never actually go anywhere?

How to be an imaginative traveller; imagine

Well, I think an imaginative traveller is someone who takes the path less travelled, someone who doesn't setlle for typical or ordinary or even your ordinary variety of extraordinary. Conversely, an imaginative traveller can take an ordinary vacation and do ordinary things but in an extraordinary manner. An imaginative traveller is the extraordinary factor that they want to see, they don't just wait for extraordinary to drop in their laps.

How to be an imaginative traveller; travel

An imaginative traveller does not necessarily do because it is convenient or available or because it's a once in a lifetime chance and they really should. An imaginative traveller travels out of a heart and passion and love, whether it is for the place they are going, or who they are going with, or the travelling itself. An imaginative traveller travels with appreciation for each moment, each place, each experience (even if they are appreciating how bad the bus smells or how long the line is and how sore their feet are). An imaginative traveller is in the moment, fully alive and conscious of their aliveness. An imaginative traveller does not spend the whole time imagining they were somewhere else, but rather living imaginatively each moment that is given them.

Imaginative traveller; no I'm not out of my mind

I hope this inspires you to be an imaginative traveller too. I have not done a lot of travelling, not nearly so much as I would like to, but perhaps that is part of why I still maintain the qualities of an imaginative traveller, something that often children possess, but something that is lost with the growing into the cares of our generation. So no, the imaginative traveller is not crazy, not delusional, not someone who invents vacations in their mind or just goes mental every once in a while, but someone who can appreciate the beauty and variety and newness of life over and over again. Happy travelling!
